Six Senses Opens on Saudi’s Red Sea Coast

Six Senses AMAALA opens this month as your new holistic haven on the shores of the Red Sea.

Occupying a striking site between gentle beaches and a mangrove-fringed lagoon, and anchored by a clifftop mesa at its centre, the new property, one of the year’s most anticipated openings, sits within AMAALA, a protected wellness destination spanning more than 2,500 square kilometres of Red Sea coastline framed by desert peaks and coral-fringed coves.

A Village Built for Togetherness

Six Senses Opens on Saudi's Red Sea Coast

Six Senses AMAALA is designed around connection rather than isolation. Its 100 suites and villas, alongside 25 branded residences, draw on traditional Saudi coastal architecture and are woven into the natural terrain to create a village-like rhythm for families and groups. The experience leans on local heritage and storytelling, shared rituals, and nature-led activities, from snorkeling among vivid marine life to stargazing under clear desert skies, while the pace favours shared discovery over rigid itineraries.

Wellness Woven Into Every Stay

Wellbeing runs through the entire guest journey at Six Senses AMAALA, from sleep-optimized room design to the nutrient-rich Eat With Six Senses dining philosophy. At the center of this is Six Senses Spa AMAALA, styled after a hidden desert oasis with lush vegetation, pools, and waterfalls. Treatment rooms open onto private terraces overlooking the lagoon, while an outdoor Watsu pool offers guided, water-based release therapy.

The spa’s Longevity Center pairs modern science with a human touch, offering cryotherapy, PEMF therapy, and personal consultations, alongside a dedicated sound dome for sensory relaxation and a Biohacking Recovery Lounge. Separate male and female thermal areas include saunas, a salt room, and vitality pools, and the resort rounds out its offering with daily yoga and fitness classes plus multi-day wellness programs and group retreats.

Dining Led by Eat With Six Senses

Food at Six Senses AMAALA follows that Eat With Six Senses approach: fresh, made-from-scratch dishes built on natural ingredients. A standout feature is the resort’s non-alcoholic beverage program, among the most sophisticated in the region, spanning fermented drinks, botanical infusions, probiotic tonics, and signature mocktails.

Three restaurants anchor the culinary experience. Soraya, perched atop the mesa with sweeping Red Sea views, blends Japanese precision with Latin American flavour through sushi, ceviche, and bold marinades built around the day’s catch. Joud serves all-day Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fare, from breakfast through wood-fired pizzas and mezze dinners.

The Beach Shack keeps things relaxed with grilled seafood, homemade pastas, and sundowners steps from the water while the Bunna coffee roastery, Makhbaz artisan bakery, and the Nafas cooking school add further layers of Saudi flavour and hands-on learning throughout the resort.

Sustainability at the Core

Six Senses AMAALA has opened as your new holistic haven on the shores of the Red Sea.

Six Senses AMAALA operates as part of a destination committed to running entirely on renewable energy, and the resort is designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification. Its azure mangrove lagoon, unique among AMAALA properties, supports marine ecosystems that protect the coastline and absorb carbon. Wooden boardwalks wind through the mangroves, doubling as an outdoor classroom for the Junior Mangrove Ecologist program.

The Earth Lab offers hands-on workshops in upcycled art, beeswax wraps, and essential oil blending, while Grow With Six Senses gives children a dedicated program built around nature-based discovery and conscious play.

Beyond the resort, guests can explore the desert or dive among some of the world’s most vivid coral reefs, supported by the Corallium Marine Life Institute and the AMAALA Yacht Club‘s sailing community.

Six Senses AMAALA is a 45-minute drive or 20-minute seaplane ride from AlWajh International Airport, or two hours from Red Sea International Airport (RSI), where airport concierge and lounge services serve guests arriving from the likes of Doha, Dubai, and Riyadh, alongside private jet connections from global destinations.

The opening adds to Six Senses’ expanding Middle East footprint, which already includes Six Senses Zighy Bay and Six Senses Shaharut, with Six Senses The Palm, Dubai due to open later in 2026.
