Delta Air Lines has made its much-anticipated return to Hong Kong, launching daily nonstop service between Hong Kong International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport — one of the most significant new transpacific routes of 2026.

The Aircraft and Cabin Experience

The route is operated daily on Delta’s Airbus A350-900, a wide-body aircraft well-suited to the roughly 14-hour transpacific crossing. Four cabin products are available: Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Delta Main Cabin.

Delta One Suites — the airline’s flagship business class — feature lie-flat seating with a sliding privacy door, premium bedding, and a seasonal chef-curated four-course meal. For travellers seeking extra comfort without the business class price tag, Delta Premium Select offers wider seats with deeper recline and enhanced amenities.

Delta One passengers also gain access to the newly opened Delta One Lounge at LAX (below), a nearly 200-seat facility featuring a rotating chef-curated menu, a year-round sushi bar, a wellness room with full-body massage chairs, and an interior design inspired by Southern California’s natural and architectural landscape. Private security, dedicated check-in, and concierge-style service from curb to gate round out the premium ground experience.

Connections

Beyond the nonstop itself, the new route unlocks more than 30 convenient one-stop connections onward from LAX, making it a strong option for travellers heading deeper into North America. Delta is the largest global carrier at LAX, operating more than 150 peak-day departures to over 50 destinations worldwide — giving Hong Kong-based travellers an unusually broad range of onward options under a single booking.

The launch fits neatly into Delta’s broader Los Angeles momentum. The airline’s US$2.3 billion transformation at LAX — including the new Delta Sky Way and a 1.2-million-square-foot Terminal 3 complex with 27 gates — is reshaping what a premium U.S. West Coast hub looks like.
