Amanvari has arrived on Mexico’s East Cape, bringing 18 private casitas, open-fire dining, and a contemporary temazcal to one of North America’s most untouched coastlines.
There is a stretch of Baja California where the desert simply ends — cardón cacti standing sentinel on ridgelines above a sea so intensely blue that marine biologists once called the Sea of Cortez the “aquarium of the world.” This is the East Cape, and until now, it has largely been left alone. Aman intends to keep it that way.
Peace by the Water

Amanvari — the name combining Sanskrit words for “peace” and “water” — has opened within the exclusive Costa Palmas community. Set at a rare convergence of ocean, desert and estuary, the resort frames views towards the Sierra de la Laguna mountains through architecture that responds to the land rather than imposing upon it: low, discreet structures finished in hand-applied white concrete that absorbs and shifts with Baja’s extraordinary light.
Each of the 18 82 sqm casitas comes with a heated private pool, expansive terrace, outdoor shower, and interiors of natural stone, timber, and plaster. Daily breakfast, guided wellness activities, and non-motorised water sports are included as standard.
Dining to Define the Destination

Dining moves between the global and the intensely local: Arva (Aman’s Italian concept), Sesui (a 10-seat omakase counter — an unlikely but compelling proposition on a remote Mexican coastline), and Luma, where open-fire cooking celebrates Baja’s coastal traditions. The chef will also prepare the day’s catch — yellowfin tuna and roosterfish from the Sea of Cortez — at the water’s edge.
Beyond the resort, the East Cape reveals itself in layers: diving with manta rays in the ancient coral reefs of Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park, off-road expeditions into mountain waterfalls, horseback rides at sunset along the estuary. The Aman Spa anchors its wellness offering in Mexico’s ancestral traditions, centred on a contemporary temazcal and two Hydro Houses with traditional banya and hammam.
Amanvari opens officially 1 August, 2026
