Amarta Pasut Beach Retreat has opened Yuna Wellness Bali in Tabanan, bringing yoga, recovery therapy and spa treatments to the island’s quieter west coast.
The first sound at Pasut Beach isn’t a lobby playlist or a blender behind a juice bar. It’s waves breaking on black volcanic sand and wind moving through the palms behind it. This is the kind of quiet that has, until now, kept this stretch of Tabanan largely off Bali’s wellness map.

However, that’s changing. Amarta Pasut Beach Retreat, on Bali’s west coast, has opened Yuna Wellness Bali, a dedicated wellness destination built around movement, recovery, beauty and food, set within the retreat’s grounds, with calming river views.
Bali’s wellness identity has largely been built in Canggu and Ubud. Tabanan, with its rice terraces, coconut palms and volcanic-sand beaches, offers something those two don’t: room to slow down without the island’s iconic traffic jams, a schedule of studio sessions and an endless stream of bustling smoothie bars dictating the pace. Yuna, named for a Japanese word associated with gentleness and grace, is designed as an extension of that idea.

The offering is broader than a typical hotel spa. Mornings can start with a yoga class or a session in the fully equipped gym, where guests can also book guided Mobility & Recovery classes, Strength Training sessions or a private trainer. Afterwards, there’s a sauna, cold plunge, jacuzzi and infinity pool for whatever recovery ritual suits the morning’s mood.
The treatment menu draws on Indonesian tradition — Balinese Relaxation Massage, Javanese Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stone and Yoga Stretch Massage — alongside intimate rituals that range from a Moringa Glow Facial to a lineup of Dermalogica treatments, plus hair, facial and nail services.

None of it is meant to feel prescriptive. A morning workout, an unhurried pool afternoon, a massage to be worked into a schedule rather than built around — that’s the rhythm Yuna is after, and at Pasut Beach, the setting does a fair amount of the work on its own.
“People are searching for more meaningful ways to travel,” says Christian Sunjoto, CEO of Nakula, which operates Amarta. “Bali has always had a spiritual and restorative energy, but today we’re seeing travellers engage with that more intentionally. With Yuna Wellness Bali, we want to create experiences that help guests slow down, feel present, and leave feeling genuinely recharged physically and mentally.”

For regular Bali visitors, Tabanan offers the quieter alternative to a Canggu weekend – similar flight time, but fewer scooters outside the door, and weekend packages include accommodation, breakfast at Lilly by the Sea restaurant and spa treatments, or you can escape your resort and visit on a day pass.
