Rio’s Copacabana Palace is getting the city’s first Dior Spa, home to exclusive treatments, a Jiu-Jitsu studio and an ice bath.
For more than a century, the Copacabana Palace has been where Rio goes to stay up late. Its newest addition is about getting up early. This November, the Belmond hotel opens a Wellness Club in its renovated Pool Wing, home to a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu studio, an ice bath, a juice bar, and Latin America’s first Dior Spa. The club is open to hotel guests and the public, daily from 10 am to 8 pm. Here’s what’s inside.
Dior Spa Copacabana Palace

The spa has six treatment rooms and a boutique, the only place in Rio to buy two exclusive lines, La Collection Privée, Dior’s haute perfumery line by Francis Kurkdjian, and L’Or de Vie, the skincare range made with extracts from Château d’Yquem (yes, the Sauternes estate). The Dior Maison wellness line also makes its Brazilian debut here.
The treatments you can’t get anywhere else are the ones to book. Dr Maria Bussade, a São Paulo dermatologist and the founder of Bussade Health, has co-created two exclusives, including the Couture Radiance Facial, a layered massage combined with dry brushing and microcurrent, and the Carioca High Sculpt, which borrows from Brazil’s body-sculpting tradition to drain and tone.
In addition, the signature Healing Heart Ceremony pairs semi-precious stones with singing bowls, while Dior regulars will discover the Kobi-Dior facial, adapted from Japanese Kobido massage, and the New Look Dior body treatment.
The romance runs deep. Dior’s Marc Bohan showed a haute couture collection in the Palace gardens in 1961. Fourteen years later, he shot his swimwear line on Copacabana Beach.
From Thermal to Training

The second floor is built for contrast therapy and features traditional and infrared saunas, a steam room, an ice bath and an ice fountain. Afterwards, the relaxation lounge serves botanical waters, teas and light bites built on Brazilian ingredients.
The fitness centre fills two ground-floor spaces kitted out with Technogym’s Artis line. There’s also a private studio for yoga and movement. However, the most Rio touch of all is a dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu room where guests can learn the martial art while on vacation. Personal trainers are on call, and every guest room comes with a yoga mat for anyone who would rather stretch in private.
Suco Bar, Salon and Beauty Lounge

The Suco Bar blends Brazilian ingredients, superfoods and remedies passed down through generations, making the perfect pit stop after sessions in the hair salon and barbershop or at the private Beauty Lounge, dedicated to wedding and event preparation.
Because there’s always something to celebrate on Rio’s most famous beach.
