New Private Jet Adventures with Aman

Aman and Remote Lands will fly five small-group private jet departures in 2028, with two new itineraries reaching from Bhutan’s Tiger’s Nest to Montenegro’s Adriatic coast.

Picture a private geisha evening in Kyoto. A few days later you’re at the temples of Borobudur, and before the trip is over you’re looking down at Mostar’s Ottoman bridge from a helicopter. That is the range of a single journey in the 2028 Aman Jet Expeditions, the private-aviation trips Aman and luxury operator Remote Lands have run together since 2013.

The 2028 calendar has five departures across four itineraries. Each one is limited to 16 to 18 guests and combines nights at Aman properties with private flights and a carefully arranged set of experiences. Two routes are new, two return from earlier years, and one of those will fly twice, with Remote Lands deliberately shortened its 2028 trips, with the longest now running 17 nights. That’s a real change for a format known for long, globe-spanning loops.

Two New Routes

Cultural Treasures of Asia (4–19 March, 15 nights) is the more spiritual of the two. It begins at Aman Tokyo with a private tea ceremony, sushi-making with a master chef and samurai sword lessons. From there it moves to Amansara for a helicopter flight over Angkor Wat, then to Amandayan in Lijiang for Tiger Leaping Gorge.

At Amankora’s Paro lodge (above) in Bhutan, guests hike to the cliffside Tiger’s Nest Monastery and take part in a traditional long-life blessing. The trip ends in India, where the jet lands in Agra for the Taj Mahal and guests stay at Amanbagh in Alwar.

From Islands to Ancient Worlds (4–21 October, 17 nights) is the wider-ranging one, covering eight countries, including Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, the Maldives, the UAE, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Turkey. It starts with a private geisha evening at Aman Kyoto.

Guests then fly to the private island of Amanpulo and on to Amanjiwo, the base for Borobudur and Prambanan. The last stretch is on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast at Aman Sveti Stefan, with a helicopter day trip to Mostar’s Stari Most bridge and Ottoman old town. A final private flight takes guests to Istanbul.

The Returning Favourites

Discover Southeast Asia runs twice, from 6 to 19 February and from 29 October to 11 November (13 nights each). The companies say the extra departure is a response to demand. The route covers Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand, with stays at Amanoi, Amantaka (below), Amansara, Amanpuri and the new Aman Nai Lert Bangkok. Highlights include a Baci ceremony, a helicopter flight over Angkor and private yacht cruises, with Phang Nga Bay’s limestone towers on the way.

China’s UNESCO Treasures (14–26 May, 12 nights) is built around Amanfayun in Hangzhou, Amandayan in Lijiang and Amanyangyun near Shanghai. The jet also lands in Xi’an for the Terracotta Warriors and in Zhangjiajie for the sandstone pillars of Wulingyuan. Other highlights include a champagne lunch on the Great Wall, a private cruise on West Lake and Lijiang’s UNESCO-listed Old Town.

With no more than 18 seats per departure and routes stretching from the Mekong to the Bosphorus, the hardest part of 2028 may be picking which one to join.
